Community Partnerships
We see the effects of cancer firsthand at The University of Toledo Medical Center’s Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center. That's why our community partnerships are so important to us.
Through our alliances with local organizations, we:
- Educate community members about cancer
- Empower and support patients with cancer
- Assist with transportation, lodging and other needs
Some examples of recent events and programs include:
- Skin cancer community education program
- Free breast exams
- Health coaching to breast cancer survivors
- Look Good, Feel Better classes for women dealing with hair loss and skin changes from chemotherapy and radiation
- Free lodging provided to patients undergoing treatment
- Road to Recovery program, in which American Cancer Society volunteers gave patients more than 500 free rides to and from treatment
- Annual survivor event
- Annual lymphedema event
