Hand and Arm Therapy
Hand therapists are occupational therapists who have specialized training and experience in the assessment and treatment of hand and arm injuries. UTMC’s hand therapists work with patients to prevent injury or impairment, restore functional activity and enhance participation in daily life.
Expertise in therapy for hands and arms
Our team of four specialty-trained occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants has more than 35 years of combined experience assisting individuals in regaining the use of their hands and upper extremities.
UTMC rehabilitation therapists work directly with referring physicians to provide our patients with the best care. Our team is dedicated to helping our patients return to daily activities, work and recreational pursuits — whether we are overseeing a patient-directed home exercise program or providing consistent hands-on therapy.
Hand and arm injuries may be work-related, the result of an accident or surgery, or from wear and tear on joints, tendons and muscles from repetitive movement, including leisure activities or sports.
