Male Urology Problems

Missing too much of life because of frequent trips to the restroom? You may have an enlarged prostate.

  • Prostate problems
  • Stone disease
  • Urology cancers
    • Prostate cancer
    • Bladder cancer
    • Kidney cancer
    • Testicular cancer
  • Urinary infection
  • Incontinence
  • Blood in the urine
Enlarged Prostate

Luckily, our experts offer in-office treatments to reduce the frequency and urgency associated with lower urinary tract function.

By age 60, more than 50 percent of men have an enlarged prostate. By age 85, the number climbs to 90 percent.

As men age, it is common for the prostate gland to grow and cause obstruction of urinary flow. This can lead to symptoms that include:

  • Incomplete emptying
  • Pushing or straining to urinate
  • Broken urinary stream
  • Frequency of urination
  • Inability to postpone urination
  • Getting up at night to go

The treatment for an enlarged prostate, or BPH, can involve medical as well as surgical therapy. Our specialists utilize the newest minimally invasive techniques that don’t require cutting, heating or removal of prostate tissue.

These state-of-the-art procedures can be performed in our office, under local anesthesia, which affords shorter recovery times for our patients. You also can continue taking your anti-coagulation medications. The procedures also are safe for patients taking blood thinners.

Male Incontinence

Although incontinence is mostly considered a women’s health issue, it also affects a significant number of men. Whether due to aging, previous surgery or after-effects of cancer treatment, incontinence can be a debilitating problem, but it doesn’t have to be. Allow our specialists to discuss the many options available, including sling surgery and artificial urinary sphincter implant, to name a few, for getting you back to being dry and active.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Erectile Dysfunction is a problem more common than men are willing to admit. Although it can be an embarrassing problem, men shouldn’t shy away from discussing ED with their health-care providers. Therapies now exist to help men re-attain their previous vigor. We offer the latest treatments, which range from medications to surgical procedures to restore sexual function.
