Worried about paying your medical bills? No health insurance? We can help! Financial Counselors at The University of Toledo Medical Center help arrange for payment plans and financial assistance for eligible patients and families. The University of Toledo Medical Center is committed to providing health care to individuals who need it, regardless of family income. Please call us at 419.383.4588 and/or 419.383.7095. Qualification for many assistance programs requires applicants to meet federal poverty income guidelines based on their Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH)The Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH) receives federal, state and county funds to care for children who are, or are potentially medically handicapped. This program provides eligible handicapped children with payments for medical expenses for diagnostic and treatment programs through BCMH-approved medical providers.

The University of Toledo Medical Center Financial Assistance Program
Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP) Patients who need medical care, but are unable to pay for it may be eligible for free or reduced-cost care at Ohio hospitals through Hospital Care Assurance Program or hospital financial assistance programs. For each of these programs, the patient must complete an application and may be required to provide proof of income. You may print off an application (Spanish version), fill it out, and bring it in or mail to:

Medicaid Disability Medicaid provides payments for medical expenses for eligible low-income, age 65 or older, blind or disabled individuals. The extent of medical care which may be paid is governed by Ohio's Medicaid program.

Ohio Victims of Crime (VOC) Ohio Victims of Crime (VOC) is funded by the collection of court costs and filing costs within the state of Ohio. Innocent victims of violent crimes are entitled to compensation under the laws of the State of Ohio.
Compensation for lost wages and incident-related charges are available for eligible victims through this program. Ohio Victims of Crime will not reimburse inpatient hospital bills for HCAP-eligible patients.
